Halloween 4: ideas & scrapbooking

A few of my books, magazines and scrapbooking supplies for halloween:

Lots of old-fashioned ideas, classic halloween papers and designs (see lower photos)

And of course Martha Stewart´s books, magazines, articles, older issues of ML Living, still so so good with great ideas, crafts, food, drinks, etc! I plan on using several ideas, and some I use for other holidays, just changing the colors and themes. The pumpkin stew served in a pumpkin shell or not, is great for Thanksgiving too, for instance.

The ideas for meals of real food that still are halloweeny, such as pumpkin stew in tiny sugar pumpkins,  candy apples on skinny branches are good in this book. Lots of halloween crafts, projects, ideas, such as a making a flashlight into a halloween torch with sheer craft paper and cutouts to have halloweeny shadows and light.

The kids like carving and painting their pumpkins, like in this book:

Love this spider made from a pumpkin! and the spiderweb painted other one:

Inside cover of one book, they´ve made into halloween themed inserts

I might make my face up like this but with green and black, below. Above, I like the lantern lighting, using simple paper cutouts and hand drawn designs. It´s pretty, for other holidays too such as Christmas, just change the colors, and use, candy canes or trees for instance.

One of my all-time fave holiday recipes of Martha Stewart is this autumn leaf pastry filled with sweet or savoury ingredients. Great both with a chicken, veggie or whatever filling; and with a pie filling such as cherry, apple, or mincemeat!

The entire meal is really good, with string beans, pumpkin and other autumn or seasonal ingredients. We usually do not have fresh green beans here this time of year, but I just substitute veggies we can get:)

The simple fruit and cheese, fresh bread sticks and pumpkin butter in a crock, fresh rye pumpernickel bread above. Yum! And the pretty pumpkin bundt cake below. Using the autumn leaves as decoration, which I do as the trees outside are gorgeous with them, and tiny pinecones, etc! For Christmas, I´ll use some of the red and white holly outside, bringing it indoors, for color.

These are the apples I will make, above.

Above, olive slices in ice cubes, for floating eyes in drinks. Below, similar idea, with boiled eggs, and croak sandwiches and other delicious, fun halloween foods, yet still REAL food.

Soft pretzel fingers and toes, using tinted pistachio nuts for finger and toenails. Spiders made with chocolate and thin licorice whips, for ice cream decorations.

More. Below, what some of my roll-out cookie cutters look like. Along with tiny old fashioned tin looking chocolate molds in similar shapes. I still have trouble getting out the chocolates though, or pulling the cookie dough shapes apart without breaking them, or totally demolishing them! Hence, why I usually just end up using them for decorations themselves, not actually using them!:)

Above, one of my books, with some of the old fashioned designs for table decorations and halloween crackers (like British Christmas crackers, paper things filled with candy or toys). Below the table set with pretty china, similar to some we have and use for holidays. The Norwegian ones are made from flint, but still fairly light, delicate. Mine are from Germany very thin, delicate. And lots of various other sets, passed down from various family.

More of the pretty, ornate classic designs from yesteryears past halloweens.

Some of my halloween scrapbooking things: rubberstamp mummy, and  Jack-O-Lantern pumpkin paper cutter

Various scrapbooking supplies, different themes, paper, rubberstamps, stickers, shakers etc

Some of the scrapbook designs I used to do, above. Below some themed halloween scrapbook packs of papers, in scrapbook paper set holders.

YAY! some of the other halloween bags, I´d been searching for, where in my scrapbook supplies!:)
