God Morgen (fra) Norge

God Morgen Alle Sammen! What a gorgeous morning outside! I´m studying, changed my position so I´m looking out a different window, with views of nothing but green pine trees, green forest, and the sugar maple leaves in colors of faull (hmmm oops! I keep doing that lately, learning Norwegian mixing it automatically with an English word. This one is obviously a mix though of fall and autumn, which is høst in Norwegian).

The forests here are important in Norway, and wow some of the prettiest trees too! I took biology, chemistry...botany, but I usually have to look up things here, as since I´m not from here, things are similar often but still different. The sting rays here are spotted, not solid dark color as I´m used to; there are lovely pink sea urchins and pink jelly fish (yes, they sting and are poisonous, still ethereal). The pine trees I pass on my walks are often so unusual, delicate, pretty, unusual to the ones such as thick, gnarled substantial ponderosa pines I´m used to.

If it isn´t yet clear, I am a huge fan of the outdoors, and all that´s in it, land and sea,from tiny spiders and insects of all sorts (hmmm well maybe not ticks! hate ticks!) from centipedes to scorpions (which to my knowledge we do not have here), to rattlesnakes  and  cottonmouths(though yes, ok I don´t want to be bitten), deer, elk, moose, sheep, birds,whales, dolphins, sting rays, sharks....and flowers, herbs, wild native plants, rock, moss, mushrooms (these are poisonous here, that even touching them briefly then accidentally putting your fingers in your mouth, like when then eating lunch, can make you dizzy, nauseous or worse if you actually ate any of the mushroom),berries, fruits, and trees.


The only two things I dislike are the ticks,  and the huge African slugs which eat everything!

Some of the things we don´t, to my knowledge, have here are fireflies which I miss! One of our kids fave characters is Ray, the firefly in the movie The Princess and The Frog. They still remember when little seeing the glowbugs, fireflies when visiting/living in the US:).
