One of the simple linen curtains, hanging by tiny wood dowel from hooks, in one of the tiny rooms. This room had a few simple corner shelves, wood cross, and other simple decorations.
The kitchen area had huge cavernous stone fireplaces with various types of iron stoves or iron kettles hanging from the stone.
One of the rooms with tiny closet storage, inside are numerous shelves. Each door has a key.
Another few fireplace cooking areas. All 3 are much much larger than they appear in photos! The iron pot was difficult to pick up even after I took the heavy lid off! The other pots and pans were copper. The fireplace stove below is more rustic, but just as large.
Walking outside again, you can see the moon, the lights from the houses on the forested mountains in the background, and the arch entrance around the outside courtyard area which is surrounded by the church and main hospital of the Leprosy Museum. Directly from this are more cobbled streets with tiny markets, shops, groceries, restaurants etc. in the Marken area of town leading to similar areas of town.
Just the first tiny restaurant YR a minute walk from the museum we just left
More places along this street, looking down one direction
Fountain we sometimes sit at to eat a packed lunch, while the kids play in the water. Sometimes they stomp directly on the water, or float boats there.
Wider view of the fountain area and surrounding shops
One of the narrow streets in town. If you stand in the middle, you can just touch either building on each side! Walking down in this direction leads back to the main lake in the middle of town, by many of the museums, opposite the lake, or on this side at the end of these shops, more tiny similar looking shops. To the left of those shops/lake would be the train station, bus station area. To the right would be towards festplassen, the pavillion across the road, Torgallmenningen....fish market, Bryggen....Fortess, Sandviken, Fløyen, all within 6 to 20 minute walk from here.
Walked down this lane, back to the lake/open area called Festplassen, where many concerts, outdoor art and concerts happen. Someone has chalked art designs on the slate-covered open space. The lights in the background are the museums, and lighted water spray which continues all day from early morning til after dark. In December there will be a huge Christmas tree or such in its place.
