Open 24 hours, not done here, unless you need the legevakt (ER). Generally, shops have limited hours of about 10 am to 5. A few shops, usually grocery stores, have longer hours and have a tiny space open on Sunday for basics.
Midnight Shops, are when all the main Sentrum (city centre) shops are open until midnight or thereabouts, for Jul (Christmas) shopping. I can´t recall but it might be tax-free also. I took a short video. The video quality is not bad, that loud noise is the fierce winds, which also made it difficult to walk. Snow and sleet were on and off that night, but most shops still, in spite of the weather, had warm drinks and food, and music. Many had live DJs, a few had live bands.
One of the shops let me leave all my shopping at her shop, while I finished shopping elsewhere!
Where I´m taking the video, there is a live DJ playing music, and they´re serving piping hot Gløgg, and hot freshly-made waffles.
The large white building is a temporary structure which houses the ever-popular Gingerbread City called Pepperkakebyen. Each year children from Bergen and surrounding area make all kinds of gingerbread items, including houses, people, hot air balloons, churches, lakes, animals, trucks, merry-go-rounds, etc. All of these are put together to make the Gingerbread City. Our kids took some of the things their barnehage (kindergarten) made this year. Last year when visiting, they and any other children visiting, got to also decorate gingerbread men which were put up. I will post another...(finish this)
