Påske: Making Easter

Påske has feather trees, lamb, and special Norwegian bread. This year, I´ve made Swedish Christmas saffron buns, and instead of/in addition to Easter baskets I´ve made lots of happys to fill up Easter balloons which The Easter Camel will be dropping off after bedtime tonight,). I try to keep holidays homemade, family-oriented, with as little commercially- made store-bought things as possible, no candies unless homemade. The kids enjoy this, and never protest. They especially enjoy helping make/bake things, and look forward to their surprises as each year I do things slightly different.

Paper stars and globes made from scrapbook papers, hand-drawn and coloured memory card games made from round and square paper coasters (each side has a different design)
fabric scraps turned into linen aprons for all 3...

felt and flannel scraps sewn and tied into sleeping bags to snuggle into whilst watching movies indoors on their beds...
Felt hand puppets also made from scraps of fabric and yarns. Just draw out whatever patter you like onto paper. For one set of bunnies I used an old shirt in antique western Mickey Mouse print
Boiling eggs for Easter eggs & devil´d egg ¨chicks¨
I got some balloons and filled them with tiny little Easter happys, shreddies and Easter tinsel. Then tied them from the ceiling with tiny paper baskets to look like Easter hot air balloons
And the Easter basket (one that they all shared)...
