winter crafts & quilting

Wintertime lacks much daylight time here, usually I like to spend time outdoors anyway, hiking, walking, wandering around, running errands, etc. But also, winter is a great time to do hobbies, so I like to try to find time to quilt and craft. When I find/take some up-to-date photos, I´ll add them, but for now just a few suggestions of one of the quilt tops I´m patching lately.
Collecting fabrics and such is a bit of an old obsession, ermh hobbie, which I have culled, but I still have several full plastic tub containers of antique calicos, felts, sari silks, cottons, printed 1950s replica fabrics, organzas, tuilles (not that I can ever spell it without a few rewritings!), and more. Most of these are difficult if not impossible to find when outside the US, so I´m glad I brought some of my fabrics when I moved here. Love my fabric stash, very eclectic and always gives me further ideas of new projects, whether it´s quilting, sewing, crafting or painting large murals (my other fabric stash is a few containers of white cotton duck for art canvas murals, which I like to design and paint).
There´s a quilt shop in town which has a huge machine for the fancy tiny stitching round the main patches, and can bind the quilt layers, once the actual top is made...
