WC (water closet)

Although our bathrooms are smaller than the clothes closets I had in the US, I´m used to tiny bathrooms from other places I´ve lived. I find our WC quite charming, and an impressive use of space! In case, you miss it, the shower unit is behind the toilet and the ladder...

Long galley WC with sink and understorage, step stools for the kids, hanging oilcloth fabric storage bins on the wall, antique ceramic toilet, shower

Spearmint plant on the loo, hiding the shower stall, above, and below, family scrapbook page, toothbrushes, skull soaps, and kids bathroom toys....

Handmade New Mexican ladder which I sometimes use to hold towels or to dry clothes in the WC

Electricity laws here forbid electric outlets in wet or steamy areas, and are very strict on what type lights you can have, but I like these, even the round basic utility lighting, which gives off lots of light. The two light switches are outside the WC door, not inside as might be expected in US homes. The fan switch is also on the outside of the room.
Heated tile floors keep the room warm year round. Summer days don´t get too hot, and are cool at night, so heated floors are the usual here. There´s another switch outside the room to decide how hot the floors will be, and to turn them on and off.
